Around the House
Appliances tend to live a long time at my house. Sometimes long after they should be retired. (I’m not complaining.) My 17 year old Kenmore electric slide in range is literally beginning to fall apart but it still works great. One my heating elements broke so I threw it away thinking I’d just replace it. Turns out Sears no longer has parts for it. So I priced new 30” slide in electric ranges. OMG they are 3 times the cost of a regular range. I remember the current one being more costly than a regular one but not that out of sight. I lamented to my sister, Kay, about my dilemma and she immediately started shopping for me on line (she’s such a good sister). Sounds like an appliance outlet is the answer. They offer scratch and dent and refurbished appliances at a fraction of the cost. I will let you know what happens.
