EASTER SUNRISE CANTATA
For more than fifty years the choir from Rocky Hill Baptist Church (Cedar Mountain, NC) has performed an Easter cantata at Symmes Chapel, better known as "Pretty Place", at the end of Solomon Jones Road. YMCA Camp Greenville is the caretaker of Pretty Place. Led by Lenoir Bishop, the cantata will be performed on Easter morning March 27th and. It will begin at around 6:30am. It is suggested that folks arrive by 6:00am in order to park at the ball field and catch the shuttle bus unless they wish to walk to the chapel. As is their custom, Camp Greenville will have a delicious buffet breakfast following the cantata, in their large dining room on the camp property. Dress warm and comfortable and come out for an enjoyable Easter morning.
Turn on Solomon Jones Road off Hwy. 276 (Greenville Hwy.) in Cedar Mountain, then follow it through Camp Greenville about 5 ½ miles to the end. For more information you may call Rocky Hill church at (828) 62-5611. Pastor Leland Holland will help in any way he can. Dr. Holland will also be delivering an Easter message at the sunrise service. The Easter cantata will be performed a second time at Rocky Hill Baptist Church, at the 11:00am service. Everyone is invited to come out to one or both services.

CMFRD PANCAKE BREAKFAST
The Cedar Mountain Fire/Rescue Auxiliary pancake breakfast was a huge success even though we kept blowing the “fuses” with all the electric griddles. Thanks to all hungry folks who came to chow down on our pancakes and sausage. A delicious fruit salad was also served along with coffee juice and milk. Volunteers are sorely needed. Please contact Cindy Greene firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in helping out with fundraisers and other events. All proceeds benefit the Cedar Mountain Fire Rescue Dept.
Spring officially begins March 20th this year, yet many trees are already flowering or in bud. The Magnolia's are gorgeous. If they don't get bit by a cold frost they will be spectacular this year.

AROUND THE HOUSE
Well I haven’t square danced since I was a teenager which was eons ago but I decided to go to the free classes for the exercise at least. I had a ball even though with the shortage of “guys” I had to pose as one. Seemed a little weird to be “swinging” another lady but hey, the instructor said if I learned the guy part I could dance at any square dance I went to. There is no lack of ladies. So come on down guys and swing a lady partner (so I don’t have to). I must say though that my partner Judy Patrick knows her square dancing moves and headed me in the right direction more than just a few times.
What’s happening with you or in the community? We’d love to hear about it if you would like to share. All news for next week has to be received by Monday evening in order to be published in the Thursday edition of the Transylvania Times
