FIRST-TIME VISIT TO CEDAR MOUNTAIN
Don & Jeanne Hayes are excited to welcome their newest addition, great-granddaughter Maze Guilmette to Cedar Mountain. This is her first trip here! She is only three month's old though, so has time to come often and stay longer. "Wish they could have stayed long enough for everyone to see how cute she is" gushed great-grandma Jeanne. However, Don & Jeanne's grandson L.J. and his family were only here for a short time, on business. Traveling from Poteet, Texas, we expect them to learn the roads between here & there soon enough! Come back often!

AROUND THE HOUSE ~ Linda Young
I was tooling down 276 to Brevard one morning when a car backed out of a driveway apparently not looking and without caring whether someone was coming. I had to slam on the brakes. License plate? XQZ-MEE! True story.
Being an amateur mycologist I was very much interested in the presentation by Greg Carter (The Mushroom Man) at the center last week. When the program was over I asked if I could have the edible ones. He gladly obliged. I finished off the Chanterelles the next day and then went for the Lactarius Corrugis which I accidently burned in cooking. Have several more pieces that will be lots tastier not burned. Still have to try the Shaggy Stalked Boletus that I had thought was not edible. Greg said it has a light taste and the consistency of asparagus. Hmmm.
