CEDAR MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY CENTER BBQ FUNDRAISER

The annual Cedar Mountain Community Center BBQ fundraiser is set for Monday, October 12, at 6:00 PM. Enjoy a pulled pork plate, prepared by Smoke On, with beans, slaw, bread, a drink, and a cookie. Plates are $15 each, available for eat-in or take-out.

BLOOD DRIVE

Be sure to mark your calendars for the next blood drive on Saturday, October 17 from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM.

TRANSYLVANIA SHARES REPAIR CAFE WAS A WONDERFUL EVENT

Transylvania Shares hosts quarterly repair cafes at the Canteen and just hosted one this past weekend. They mended clothes, a bell, log splitter, dehumidifier, a rug shampooer and so much more. The next repair event is at the Canteen on December 12 at 4:30 pm. If you have fix it skills, come on down and help.

CEDAR MOUNTAIN CANTEEN COMMUNITY GAMES

Looking for some local fun? Join the Cedar Mountain Canteen Golf Game every Tuesday at 5:30 pm at Sherwood Golf Course. Trivia is also held every Friday at 6:30 pm. Come out and play and meet some new friends.

NEED A 2-DRAWER FILING CABINET OR SOME SHELVES?

A community member has two 2-drawer filing cabinets available, and Transylvania Shares has two 5-shelf units to give away. If interested in any of these items, please contact Kim at 828-513-9979.

Cedar Mountain Canteen Annual Thanksgiving Day Potluck will be hosted again this year starting at 3 pm. If you would like to help, donations are appreciated towards the turkey, ham and salmon provided every year by the Canteen. All are welcome. This is always a heartfelt event.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS EVE POTLUCK NOW WITH JACK FROST GAMES

The Canteen will host its annual Christmas Eve potluck this year and are providing an evening of family fun games. Would you like to host a game? Let them know!

My honey and I took advantage of the free Repair Cafe last Saturday at the Canteen. I had cleaned the rollers on my rug shampooer but after I put it back together it wouldn’t pull the water out of the carpet. No reason we could find. Fortunately one of the volunteers finally got it working for us. He cleaned a small entry mat at the Canteen to be sure. We had an uncooperative pressure washer fixed there last year. Thank you to Transylvania Shares and the Canteen for offering this service. It is appreciated.
