BOARD MEETING

The Cedar Mountain Community Center board is meeting Thursday, Aug 6th at 4:00pm.

2016 CALENDAR

As a fundraiser our Community Center has put together a beautiful calendar for 2016. The calendar is composed of photographs from local photographers and highlight the beauty of our area. Our 2016 Calendar was ‘Made in the USA’ - Montana to be exact and will be for sale at local merchants and at our meeting on August 10th. All proceeds will benefit the Community Center.

AUCTION

Monday August 10th will be our annual Cedar Mountain Community Center Auction. Donated items can be brought to the Center starting at 5:30pm on the evening of the auction.

For our potluck we ask that you please have food on the table by 6:15pm. We eat at 6:30pm. Following a short meeting about 7pm our entertaining auctioneer, Michael Pace, will begin auctioning donated items. David Brown will bring his handcrafted wood items which are always a hit at our auction. ‘Mossin’ Annie Martin will also be contributing to our auction. There will be lots more good stuff to bid on. All proceeds benefit the community center.

USPS CLEANUP (photo attached)

Thanks to several hardworking and conscientious folks from the Cedar Mountain Community the post office grounds were “beautified” last Saturday. AROUND THE HOUSE ~ Linda Young

It’s really cool living in Cedar Mountain. I mean really really cool. When it’s 90 in Brevard my thermometer says it’s 6 – 8 degrees cooler. It was 66 degrees this morning and another resident said it was 57 at his house last week. On the other hand it is usually warmer at my altitude (3000 ft) than it is in the valleys in the winter. It can be 40 degrees at my house and be frost on the Sherwood Forest golf course. That’s OK with me too.

What’s going on in your life that you would like to share? Please send all news to cedarmountainnews@hotmail.com. If need be, you may also call Linda Young at 877-5407. Contributions need to be received by Monday evening in order to be published in the Thursday edition of the Transylvania Times.
