FAITH MEMORIAL CHAPEL welcomes folks of all denominations to our services, held on Sundays at 11:00 AM. We meet only in the summer and have no membership roll, so you won’t feel like a guest. Each Sunday, we have clergy from different churches that visit us to lead the service and we are blessed to also have great music to accompany the great message!
On August 2nd, we welcome the Rev. Brian Gilmer. Brian serves as Lead Pastor at Travelers Rest United Methodist Church in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. He has pastored four other South Carolina United Methodist Churches, including Buncombe Street in Greenville, South Carolina where he served three years as Senior Pastor.
Music this Sunday will be provided by Lillie Syracuse. “Pulling from a well of folk- rock, soul, and jazz inspiration Lillie Syracuse has formed a genre bending artistry and writing style deeply and uniquely her own."

CEDAR MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY CENTER
Come join your neighbors at the August Potluck scheduled for August 10th. Bring your favorite summer dish to share. Please have your food on the table by 6:15 PM and the meal will begin at 6:30 PM.
The program will be focused on creating various focus groups within the community by connecting those with shared skills, talents, and interests. Several community residents will share information and ideas about special interests they have and what coming together could mean. Those interested in music, gardening, road beautification, canning/food preparation and others can begin to get together to share knowledge and learn new skills. Each group will decide how it will function and when it meets. This will be an opportunity for you to join with your neighbors to learn new things, share skill sets (playing a musical instrument), and strengthen community connections. Come find out who may share your interests!

AROUND THE HOUSE by Linda Packer Young
We were awakened in the middle of the night by a loud crash in our closet. The entire section had collapsed dumping everything on the shelf and all the clothes in a huge pile on the closet floor. It apparently been installed by the former owner and was not fastened to the wall properly. It did last more than 30 years though. After a trip to Lowes for new hardware and a long afternoon the situation was resolved. We took the opportunity to “edit” the amount of stuff in the closet including seldom worn clothing.
I have to brag on my African Violet. It has 9 flowers on it. Very beautiful and impressive.
