Faith Memorial Chapel welcomes folks of all denominations to our services, held on Sundays at 11:00 AM.  We meet only in the summer and have no membership roll, so you won’t feel like a guest.  Each Sunday, we have clergy from different churches that visit us to lead the service and we are blessed to also have great music to accompany the great message! On August 23rd, we welcome the Rev. Toni Pate. Toni is the founding Pastor of Trinity Church, an interdenominational church in downtown Greenville, SC. She has a special place in her heart for Faith Memorial Chapel-which has been a highlight of her summers for fifteen years. Music this Sunday will be provided by Amara Campanini. Amara is a rising sophomore at Furman University pursuing degrees in Vocal Performance and English. She grew up in Brevard, North Carolina, where she was a proud member of the Brevard High School choir as well as the BHS theater department. She is thrilled to be continuing her musical journey at Furman with Dr. Craig Price, and is so grateful to Faith Chapel for giving her an opportunity to share her singing and her faith.

HOMECOMING AT ROCKY HILL BAPTIST CHURCH

The 151st year of worship at Rocky Hill Baptist Church will be celebrated this Sunday, August 24th at 10:30 am. Pastor Cliff McKnight and the church family would like to invite all to join with us. The Rev. Ralph Lee, Jr., will bring the message. He is a descendent of the original church trustees – Ralph Wellington Lee, Jackson Heath, Sr. and Street Burns, Sr. After serving fifty years as a pastor, Ralph retired last year from Great Swamp Baptist Church in Ridgeland, SC and is currently the interim pastor at Gillisonville Baptist Church in Ridgeland. Special music will be provided by the Rocky Hill Choir, members of Ralph’s family and visiting musicians. As always, a delicious potluck Cedar Mountain meal in the Family Life Center will follow the service. Fried chicken, fresh green beans, homemade potato salad, deviled eggs, heirloom tomatoes,

chocolate cake, peach pound cake, banana pudding and the Jones/Burns walnut cake will be just a few of the dishes on the tables. Come and join us!

AROUND THE HOUSE by Linda Packer Young

I have been working on clearing out unneeded items so we took a box of books to the Transylvania County Library on Monday.  They seemed thrilled to get music and “how to” books.  Monday, August 31st, will be the final day to donate books for the upcoming October sale. The library requires this time to organize the inventory. Donations will be accepted only on Mondays between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM leading up to the deadline.
