CEDAR MOUNTAIN CANTEEN
Following the loss of our beloved colleague, Daniel, and the sadness we’ve seen over the holidays, we feel inspired to spark more conversations about mental health. Mental health festivals are happening around the country, and we’re excited to host one here at the Canteen. We’re still in the planning stages, but if you’d like to be part of it, please reach out. You can email us at LittleEddyLLC@gmail.com or stop by to let us know.
REPAIR CAFE
We previously shared that the Canteen would stop hosting Repair Cafes since Brevard was offering them regularly. That plan didn’t last long! The community’s response made it clear they should continue in Cedar Mountain as well. We’re now working with coordinators in Brevard and Hendersonville to create a 2026 schedule and will share details as soon as everything is set.
CEDAR MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY CENTER CROCK POT COOK-OFF
To get back on track after the events of 2025, we’re kicking off 2026 with our Crock Pot Cook-off on its regular date—the Saturday before the Super Bowl—January 31, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite recipe for anything you can make in a Crock Pot. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Come enjoy tasting and voting for your favorite dish! There’s a $5 donation to participate, with proceeds benefiting the community center.

AROUND THE HOUSE by Linda Packer Young
I know a lot of folks are wishing we had more snow for recreational purposes right now but being born and raised in the Midwest I have seen enough to last a lifetime. A light skiff of snow us one morning this week but was gone by noon. We can handle that.
