AROUND THE HOUSE by Linda Packer Young
Not many dull moments around the house this week. We took our much loved and well-used
2014 Jeep Cherokee Summit for repairs for what seemed to be transmission issues. The repair estimate was over $12,000. Needless to say we drove home in a white 2021 Jeep Cherokee LTD.
We had just made the last payment on this vehicle, affectionately named Rusty for her color. She was pre-owned when we found her, but she proved to be a trusty vehicle. Rusty gave us countless miles of smiles, traveling nearly coast to coast towed behind our motor home and always ready for adventure when unhooked. She took us to incredible places like Acadia National Park in Maine, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, on down to Florida, up to Illinois and Iowa and back on down to San Antonio and Galveston, TX, plus several other places in between, racking up over 170,000 miles. She has now made her last trip and is in her final parking spot. We will miss her.
