She is a Community Impact Manager partnering with other area nonprofits and community groups to build relationships and a greater Brevard area community.
Polish up those taste buds and head on down to the Cedar Mountain Fire Rescue Department for great BBQ on Saturday May 28th. The Auxiliary will begin serving at 11 am and will last until we run out of BBQ or until 2 pm whichever comes first. Requested donation is $12.00 per plate or per lb. Thank you for your participation.
We want you to see what your previous donations have meant, so far, for the fire department and the community. Extrication equipment, paid for by your donations, will be on display. Your donations will go toward additional needed equipment.
RENT THE CENTER
The center is becoming very busy. To rent the center please contact us well before your event. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your proposed date as soon as possible.
CHRISTINE’S CORNER by Christine Pace SPORTS TALENT One local 12-year-old from Cedar Mountain is making himself known within the sports field. I’ve watched Christian Girolamo excel in tennis from the start, the year I took one of my grandsons to a tennis camp at the Brevard Racquet Club. So I wasn’t surprised to see him enter the soccer field Saturday as a referee. I don’t know of a sport he doesn’t excel in!
Happily Christian agreed to let me take his picture for this week’s column. Keep an eye on this talented young man. Congratulations Christian! N (photo by Christine Pace)
MEET KEVIN CREASMAN
Everyone is invited to come and meet sheriff candidate, Kevin Creasman, on Saturday, April 30th from 1 – 3pm at the Cedar Mountain Community Center. There will be food and fellowship.
MAY CELEBRATIONS Next week I plan to post the May birthdays & anniversaries, plus other “celebrations” that are sent to me at: email@example.com Graduation announcements are welcome too!
SHERWOOD FOREST GOLF
Sherwood Forest Women's golf league results for April 25 - Sixteen women played the back nine in a game of Two Best Balls. The winning team: Georgia Osterc, Lois Bollini, Patty Pike and Sandra Eidson. Low net: Georgia Osterc with 26. Next week, play starts at 9 a.m. so be at the course by 8:30 to check in. Those hours continue through the end of August. We will play the front nine in a scramble format. AROUND THE HOUSE by Linda Packer Young (photo by Richard Packer)
Thanks to the beautiful weather we have had we have been able to get out in the yard more. One day last week I was cleaning up an area that hadn’t been touched since the subdivision was started. I was raking and uncovered a buried sign that had been there under the leaf debris since about 1987. My honey took the picture of me and my “discovery. I plan to refurbish and reuse the sign.
Thank you for reading the Cedar Mountain News. Your contributions and comments are encouraged and welcome. We’d like to hear what’s going on if you would like to share. Photos are welcome as well. Please email news and photos to Linda at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday evening if possible.
