AROUND THE HOUSE by Linda Packer Young

Not much going on around the house this week.  We are both trying to recover from belligerent colds.  Good thing we have a good stock of nose tissues.  The highlight of the week was a trip to the See Off collection center on Monday.  I couldn’t let it collect any longer.  It was 3:45 pm and all I had was a $20 bill.  It was the only bill I had, and he couldn’t make change.  Sooo I said how many tickets do I get for $20?  I have now had plenty of tickets, but he was then able to give me change.  There was no way I was taking garbage back home again if there was a way.  Whew.

Before the pandemic, I hadn’t had a cold or flu since before leaving Illinois in 1995.  Things have changed.  Advanced middle-age doesn’t help either.  Ha!
