CEDAR MOUNTAIN ROTARY
The attached photo shows Len Haupert, Chairman of the Cedar Mountain Rotary Club greeting Brian Wood from the Cedar Mountain Fire Department. Brian attended our May 19th meeting of the Cedar Mountain Rotary Club to accept a check for $500 to help defray costs incurred during their outreach programs during Hurricane Helene and more recently during the fires that threatened Southern Transylvania County.
The Rotary Club of Cedar Mountain actively supports a number of charitable organizations in Transylvania County and meets at 5:30pm at the Cedar Mountain Community Center on the first and third Mondays of each month. All area residents are welcome to attend.
FAITH MEMORIAL CHAPEL
Faith Memorial Chapel welcomes folks of all denominations to our services, held on Sundays at 11:00 AM. We meet only in the summer and have no membership roll, so you won’t feel like a guest. Each Sunday, we have clergy from different churches that visit us to lead the service and we are blessed to also have great music to accompany the great message!
On June 1st, we welcome the Rev. Kellan Day. Kellan serves as Rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Greenville, South Carolina. Music this Sunday will be provided by the St. James Choir.

SING-ALONG ON JUNE 7
Raise your voice in song at the McGaha Chapel annual summer sing-along on Saturday, June 7. The Chapel will be open to visitors at 1:30pm and the program will begin at 2:30 p.m. Don’t worry if your skills are not ready for show time, more adept vocalists always carry the tune, sending old favorites echoing through the 1872 structure. After singing, stick around for a refreshing watermelon social.
Park at the Robin Hood Centre (70 Robin Hood Road, Brevard) or the adjacent barn lot. Shuttle service to the Chapel will be provided by Sherwood Forest Woodcutters or you can enjoy a short, albeit hilly, walk to the venue. Shuttle service will begin at 1:45 p.m. and resume after the event. This free, annual event, born of our neighbor Charlie Burden’s fond memories of nightly mill camps.
The Sing Along is now sponsored by the Transylvania County Historical Society, the Cedar Mountain Community, and Sherwood Forest Friends.

AROUND THE HOUSE BY LINDA PACKER YOUNG
I don’t know how many readers might be on Nextdoor but you might want to check it out. Nextdoor is a great venue to share lots of things and thoughts.
I recently posted that I would love some Lenten Roses to plant in my garden. I received several responses and agreed to share some of my ferns with a Connestee resident. Nancy and Ken even dug up the Lenten Roses for me. In exchange they received crocus bulbs and several species of ferns in return. It was a great sharing experience. I’d be glad to share some day lilies and ferns if anyone is interested. Contact me on Nextdoor.
