CEDAR MOUNTAIN CANTEEN SATURDAY MAY 3RD AT NOON

Self-taught artist Brett Laffert  explores the beauty of light, nature, and nostalgia through mosaic-style stained glass, pen and ink, painting, and photography. Originally from Granville, Massachusetts, Brett's creative journey was shaped on Nantucket Island, honed through years in the culinary world, and deepened during his time living in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. His first solo exhibition, "Filtered Light at The Canteen," reflects a passion for capturing life's quiet wonders in unexpected ways.  Today, Brett's work spans mosaic glass, pen and ink, painting, and photography — all tied together by a common thread: a deep reverence for life’s simple beauty and the filtered light that reveals it.

Please come and see Brett’s work.  You will be glad you did.

We attended an all school reunion in Bronson, Iowa this past weekend.  There were 5 members of my graduating class of 1961 present out of 6 still living. 4 of us went to the same school from Kindergarten through graduation from HS.  (My mother graduated from the same school.)  There were 7 girls and 7 boys in my graduating class.  2 of us were cheerleaders and we and 2 cheerleaders others who graduated in 1960 performed” some cheers at the reunion complete with Tu Tu’s and Pom Pons.  It was hilarious.  I called us the 80’s Ladies.
