CEDAR MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY MARKET

The Cedar Mountain Community Market many years ago.

The market currently painted red is being repainted to match the center. Work started Tuesday 10-20-10 and it is expected to be done by Thursday. I will show you the finished product next week.

CHRISTINE'S CORNER: I have to go to the grocery store to see my neighbors these days! I'm sure everyone is missing the monthly community meetings and other activities. My church (Rocky Hill Baptist) opened early in the game, and so far there are no known Covid-19 infections of our members. I go Sunday mornings for Sunday school & church then too on Wednesday evenings. Christmas Cantata practice has begun at Rocky Hill, with choir leader Lenoir Bishop. We are learning Lee Black's "The Song of Bethlehem" and it is beautiful! If you'd like to join us just come to practice on Wednesdays at 7 pm and Lenoir will give you a book, and a CD to take home with you. The phone number at Rocky Hill Baptist Church is (828) 862-5611. Our pastor is Dr. Leland Holland. My youngest granddaughter now has her driver’s license, almost a month after she turned 16. She had to make an appointment with the Driver's License office to take her (written only) test. They are not doing road tests at this time. If you have anything exciting happening that we can print please let me know (chris_p_artist@yahoo.com) or Linda Young (cedarmountainnews@gmail.com). As for me, I have been trying some new mediums in art, getting ready (still) to open my first Etsy.Com store. There is a delay as I am awaiting an upgraded cell phone, so I have no way to take pictures of my finished ornaments and such until that happens. If any readers have an Etsy store I’d welcome your pointers! My number is (828)885-2103 My dehumidifier has bit the dust, and I am in need of another. If you have one you want to part with please let me know. My two pups are doing well and loving this cooler weather, as am I. Being Chihuahua mixes I doubt they'll be very happy when winter sets in; my pastor has decided that we won't have any "snow" though this year! At least he is praying that we won't. BoBo & Jack are really loving my being home so much with them, since March. Stay safe everyone!

AROUND THE HOUSE by Linda Young

The Cedar Mountain Community Center is putting a new “face” on the old Cedar Mountain Market produce stand. Several folks got together on Tuesday to give it a “face lift”. I was among them. I am probably one of the few who actually enjoys painting and refinishing things. I love bringing a wall or piece of furniture a new breath of life too.

Thank you for reading the Cedar Mountain News. Your contributions and comments are encouraged and welcome. We’d like to hear what’s going on if you would like to share. Photos are welcome as well.

Please email your news or any questions to Cedarmountainnews@Gmail.com by Monday evening
