AROUND THE HOUSE

Well Halleluiah! A plumber finally installed my sump pump for my utility sink in the basement. I’ve only been trying to get this done since the first of November I was overjoyed but when I went down to the basement the next morning I tried it out to see how well it was working Wouldn’t you know the sink wouldn’t drain! The water slowly seeped through whatever is blocking the drain and did finally pump it out He installed a used sump pump without checking to see if I was OK with that I will need to get a personal written guarantee from them It only took 7 call to plumbers to get one to do the job

My new cat friend Buddy is pretty smart He is learning what “DOWN” means and only requires a slight nudge to persuade him now He is also being very good about using his scratching post I am trimming his claws however.

The only thing we disagree on is when I should get up. I, being retired, getting up early is an option. However Buddy says its 7:30a. It begins with soft mews escalating to a yowl and then finally bashing his ample body against my door until I get up. Sometimes, I will just hiss at him and go back to bed. This buys me maybe another ½ hour or so before he starts again.

What’s happening with you or in the community? We’d love to hear what’s going on, if you would like to share. Please email your news to cedarmountainnews@gmail.com by 6 pm on Monday next week. Photos are welcome as well.
